Family moments captured
I think many of us have photoalbums from their childhood, but rarely have family photos from when they are adults. So when Family Muus approached me with their idea to take family photos to gift to their Dad’s 60th birthday I was all in. I understand that it can feel uncomfortable at first. Especially when you are guided to follow up instructions as running around. But trust me! photos capturing your real essence and emotion reflect so much more who you are as an family than those stiff posed photos. I believe the photos sent to Family Muus clearly reflect this.
Also, when doing a session like this I just want you to be comfortable. Wear the clothes you can move around in and feel like yourself. You can be color cordinatied but you don’t have to wear the same thing. It truly depends on your desires.
I am very glad with the end result and Family Muus’ Dad was aswell! Whether you are looking for a photographer to take your family photos or a portrait session. Feel free to fill in the form and contact me to bring your vision to life.
There’s something about an Italian summer evening that makes life feel softer, slower, and a little more magical. For this birthday celebration, we brought that feeling to life with a La Dolce Vita–themed dinner party—think warm colors, effortless elegance, and a table filled with the kind of food that brings people together.
Set in a garden glowing with fairy lights and the last hints of golden hour, the table was styled with lemons, fresh herbs, and simple white candles. Guests arrived dressed in linen, silk, and those classic muted Italian tones. Laughter echoed between the trees as glasses of wine clinked and the scent of fresh pasta and olive oil drifted through the air.
Everything about the evening felt intentionally slow. Friends lingered around the table long after the plates were empty, sharing stories, passing bread, and celebrating another year of life in the sweetest way possible. It wasn’t just a birthday—it was a moment where time seemed to stretch, inviting everyone to savor it, just like the Italians do.
This is the beauty of La Dolce Vita: embracing the simple things—good food, warm company, soft light—and realizing that these are the moments worth remembering. And capturing it all felt like freezing a little piece of summer forever.
